The official MerMay team has released the MerMay 2024 prompt list! I am excited and scared at the same time. Last year, I was able to complete the whole 2023 list. And I can assure you all, I will not do that again. I was exhausted to the bone. I do not think I will have time this year to complete. If you like mermaids, this art challenge is right for you! Even if you don’t like mermaids, you can always give it a try. If you don’t like it, you can always stop. That is the beauty of art challenges. You can either continue with the challenge or stop whenever you want.
It is 2024, and MerMay is on all major platforms. The most popular places to share mermaid artwork are Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, and Reddit. A new place to post is Threads. I’m also sure—there are other social media outlets for sharing mermaid art. But the ones that I mention are some of the most current favorites. You can also share your work on your personal website. As mentioned, Reddit is a great place to share your mermaid artwork. Four years ago. I created a Subreddit, and the thread has some awesome mermaid images! Check out my Subreddit at the link below.
As stated earlier, MerMay 2024 excites and scares me. Last year was too stressful to complete all 31 mermaid illustrations, and I know I do not want to go through that again. My mind cringes from the previous year. If I do decide to join, I might simplify the art challenge.
