Let's face it—drawing new facial expressions can be daunting. That is why I created this new art challenge called Face It February! This art challenge will break you out of your comfort zone, specifically if you draw the same facial expressions.
I have gotten stuck in the same facial expression rut before. Believe me, when you change up the faces in your art. Your characters gain personality and become incrementally alive! Sound interesting? Let us explore these emotions and express them through the power of art!
Face It February 2024 is an art challenge to practice drawing facial expressions! For this challenge, I designed a unique chart. In this chart, you will find nine blank boxes. Each box has a word that describes an emotion. Your goal is to match that emotion with a drawing/artwork. Some words are easy, and others might pose a challenge. All in all, do your best to illustrate all nine!
Below is a link to my Face It February 2024 templates! You will find a PSD file and two PNG files with transparent backgrounds! The black and white PNG file is ideal for printing. Color PNG is a flattened template with transparent box openings, perfect for other art programs. The PSD file will open in Photoshop and Procreate. This file type contains layers, and each box is isolated. You can easily create a clipping mask over the boxes. I want these files to be accessible to all artists out there.
Like all of my art challenges in the past, I will be hosting Face It February on Instagram. Below are the rules!
You will have the entire month of February to complete this challenge. And this year, February 2024 has a leap year day. One extra day to draw!
Not an artist? You can use my templates and create a photo collage using your facial expressions!
I hope you all have fun with Face It February! If you need any help, contact me via email or Instagram DMs. Also, don't forget to share this challenge with your friends and family!
