THREE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN PROCREATE

During the past three years, I learned a tremendous amount in Procreate. And I want to share what I’ve learned over the years with you. I am still learning new things about this app all the time! These brushes I am giving away for FREE are my go-to set when I create digital art.

Check out this before-and-after video! I drew this mermaid twice. I illustrated her in year one and year three! I created the before with all default Procreate brushes—and the after with my FREE set.

WHAT IS PROCREATE?

If you don’t know, Procreate is an application by Apple in which you can create—beautiful, professional-looking illustrations. It is also a fraction of the cost of its competitors. The only con is that Procreate is exclusive to iPad and the iPhone. There is no desktop version.

ABOUT MY PROCREATE BRUSHES

I highly recommend using my FREE Procreate brushes with the Apple pencil. Trust me—it is totally with it. I have been a Photoshop and Wacom tablet loyalist for years. And having pen pressure is an absolute must when creating digital art, and if you don’t have one. You can buy either the 1st or 2nd generation pencil on Amazon—below is my affiliate link for the Apple Pencil 1st gen. Make sure you read up on the specs and that it is compatible with your iPad! 2nd generations are usually for the iPad Pro and Air models.

DON’T HAVE AN IPAD?

If you do not have an iPad, I would suggest finding a used iPad 6th generation. This model will be capable of utilizing the Apple 1st gen pencil. I first started learning how to draw on Procreate on an iPad 7th generation. Both models have the same specs—the difference is that the 7th gen has a port for a keyboard. Below is my artwork created using my FREE procreate brushes and an iPad 7 with an Apple pencil 1st gen.

RECOMMENDATION

My minimum iPad recommendation is to find either the iPad 6 or iPad 7. As stated earlier, I learned to draw on Procreate using an iPad 7th gen model. I found this link on Amazon for a used iPad 7.

If money is not an issue, an iPad Pro with the M2 chip would be the ultimate Procreate experience. I eventually upgraded from an iPad 7th gen to the iPad Air 5, and I love it. The only reason why I upgraded is that I wanted more layers to use in Procreate. I added affiliate link for the iPad Pro (6th Gen 256GB) below!

CONCLUSION

If you want the best experience using my FREE Procreate brushes, you will need at least an iPad 6. If you use one of my affiliate links, Amazon will give me a small commission. And if you are considering buying any of the products mentioned. Please follow the link! I want to help create more FREE content like this!
